Support sport and physical activity of girls
PROVINCIAL SECRETARIAT FOR SPORTS AND YOUTH
Pursuant to the law and the Statute, Provincial Secretariat for Sports and Youth shall perform duties of the Provincial Administration in the field of sports and youth, pertaining to preparation of acts for the Assembly and the Provincial Government, which shall regulate issues of importance to the Province in the field of sports, physical education, as well as areas of interest to youth. In the field of sports it shall: provide for the needs and interests of the citizens to be met in the field of sports, stipulated by the law; establish sports facilities and programmes of international sports competitions of importance to the AP Vojvodina, found organisations performing sports-related activities of interest to the AP Vojvodina and exercise founder’s rights over them; closely regulate conditions for performing sports-related activities by organisations in the field of sports and utilisation of public sports grounds; determine Provincial sports associations through which the needs and interests of the citizens in the territory of the AP Vojvodina shall be met, in cases when several Provincial professional sports associations are registered within a single sports branch and determine which sports branches are particularly important for the AP Vojvodina; keep the records in the field of sports; establish fulfillment of conditions for organising sports events and provide conditions for work, that is for performing of duties of the Provincial Institute for Sports and Sports Medicine, as well as other organisations in the field of sports.
Provincial Secretariat for Sports and Youth shall perform executive, professional and development duties of the Provincial Administration and perform supervision over the implementation of regulations in the field of sports. Within the scope of its activities, it shall monitor, supervise and assist the work of institutions and public services, founded by the AP Vojvodina.
Provincial Secretariat for Sports and Youth shall monitor and support the work of youth associations and associations dealing with youth issues, as well as federations, local youth offices; establish and coordinate the work of the Youth Council of the AP Vojvodina, in accordance with the law; prepare programmes and propose measures for improvement of the status of young people in conformity with the Youth Policy Action Plan; support projects in the areas of interest to youth; propose establishing of awards in the area of sports and youth, present awards to sportsmen for the results achieved in the field of sports, award scholarships to talented sportsmen, as well as present awards to talented and successful children and adolescents in the AP Vojvodina and continually support their development.
Pursuant to the law, in the field of sports, Provincial Secretariat for Sports and Youth shall perform delegated duties of public administration, which have been delegated to authorities of the AP Vojvodina, provided by the law.
Provincial Secretariat for Sports and Youth shall also perform other duties, delegated to it pursuant to the law, Provincial Assembly decision or other regulation.
Vladimir Batez
Provincial Secretary for Sports and Youth
He was born in Novi Sad on 7 September 1969.
As a professional player he played for volleyball clubs such as “Red Star” and “Vojvodiona”, in Italy and Cyprus. He won a gold medal at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, bronze medal at the European championship, two silver medals at the World and European championships and a bronze medal at the Olympics in Atlanta.
He graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education in Novi Sad. He is a senior volleyball coach, holds the Federal Volleyball Coach licence and was awarded the “Order of Nemanja 1st Class”.
He was the Secretary General of the Sports Association of Serbia.
